There is no cure for Polio, only treatment to alleviate the symptoms. However, Polio can be prevented through early immunization. 1 Aim, 1 Ringgit, 1 Last Push To End Polio

This Community Project started by the Rotaract Club aims to build on the success of the Rotary's End Polio Trans-Sabah Walk and Climb, completed on 18 November 2011, and the Rotaract Club's "Pedal Away Polio" held in September 2010; which aimed to motivate people to contribute to the US$200 million challenge to wipe out polio world wide. This project aims to raise US$50,000 (approx. RM142,700) from the public at large.

The Rotary International launched PolioPlus in 1985 with an initial pledge of US$120 million to eradicate polio. Since then, more than 121 countries had been declared polio-free, down from more than 125 polio-endemic countries in 1988 - the last polio cases in Malaysia were reported in 1992. With the support from the World Health Organization (WHO), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and UNICEF, the eradication of polio is within sight as there are only four countries are in need of the vaccine - Pakistan, Afghanistan, Nigeria, and India. In January 2012, India has reached its milestone of being one year without polio.

With the number of polio cases has fallen by over 99% since 1988, from an estimated 350,000 cases in more than 125 endemic countries to 649 cases in four countries in 2011, all we need now to reach the goal of a 100% where no child will suffer from Polio ever again is YOU!
